Recognize that super cute chambray peplum top I'm wearing? You should...
Surprise! It was the dress I made over in this refashion post! Are you surprised?
For those of you who have been following us for a while, you may remember that I didn't like this dress. In fact, I kind of hated how it fit and felt it wasn't really my personal style. I asked you, our lovely readers, if you thought I should keep or toss it and I got a resounding "keep!"
But I still didn't like it. And I don't wear clothes I don't like.
So I kept it around but never wore it until I was inspired by this shirt from Anthropologie to chop it off and make a peplum top out of it, and oh my gosh am I in LOVE.
Jeans: Old Navy (thrifted). Peplum top: Refashioned by me! Shoes: JustFab. Belt: Target (thrifted).
Necklace: c/o ONecklace
All I did was re-hem the dress at the waist with a hi-low hem, and it's a gorgeous chambray top that I wear all the time! This is why I love refashioning, because once you can make your clothes truly work for you and your own body.
In addition to my new refashioned top, I'm also wearing this gorgeous sterling silver monogram necklace from ONecklace! I've been wanting one of these for a while, so when the super nice people at ONecklace offered me one I of course said yes! I took forever choosing from their gigantic selection of fonts and sizes and finally picked this one:
I'm so happy I did, because the quality and detail are amazing! Hilary also got one that says "love" and that was beautiful as well. She isn't really into monogram jewelry, but she discovered that you could have words made as well so we were both happy!
Well there you have it! My cute new top that I'm really proud of, paired minimally with a yellow belt and neutral heels and a gorgeous necklace = fun outfit. What do you think? Is this better or worse then the first time I refashioned this dress?
Better! This looks great! Love the angle of the bottom - so flattering! Adorable necklace too.
