Jessica drew a banner and the boys' sister's colored it. |
Sumebuddies had a birthday this week! Our two adorable, precious little boys turned one, and we had so much fun!
Will you look at those adorable monsters? All ours, all the time! |
As we mentioned on Friday, last week we had the Buddies joint birthday party! We went with a monster theme, but man did we have a hard time finding monster themed party goodies without buying them online. I kid you not we went to at least four different stores looking for them. We ultimately decided that, hey, we're crafty women! We should be able to DIY some of this stuff!
And we did! Here are some of the highlights, and several of our projects we will be showing you how to DIY later this week.
We bought solid color decorations from the Dollar Store in bright orange, green, and teal blue, and threw together some pretty cute decorations!
Hilary made these amazing tissue paper poofs, tutorial coming this week:
Those were super easy to make and got re-used as decor for both Hilary's son's room and the play room at Jessica's house.
We did "monster punch" which was monster colored and served in monster cups, both the recipe and the DIY for the cups are coming up soon!
Mmmmm....monster punch! |
Hilary whipped up these delicious and adorable gluten free cupcakes. She worked her magic on a box of gluten free cake mix and store bought frosting to make these:
We found these hilarious rubber monsters at Micheal's and used them for the birthday boy's place settings.
Jessica made these monster bath toys for the boys as one of their gifts/party favors. They were a HUGE hit, and they were incredibly simple, cheap and easy to make! We'll do a quick tutorial later this week for how to make these little guys.
Everyone loved the fuzzy monsters. |
And in addition to Hilary's amazing cupcakes, we also ate this:
This picture makes me hungry again! |
Jessica made her cheater hummus with veggies for dipping, and Hilary made her pulled pork for pulled pork sandwiches. We added some potato chips, Pirate's Booty for the boys (it's their favorite!), deviled eggs and coleslaw for a fun, easy dinner.
And of course, our little Buddies got to open these (with some help from their sisters):
We had so much fun together putting together this fun and easy party! We can't wait to show you all how to do some of these projects yourself later this week. Stay tuned!
